Pic 1 - These blurry shots are from the window of a speeding bus, but
these were so close to the road!
Pic 2 - Erin, Steph and I squeezed into the bus from Ifakara
Pic 3 & 4 - Starting to get into the mountainous region. Some
absolutely beautiful scenery on this drive.
Pic 5 - Again, from the window, but this gives you an idea of the
typical rural house that we've been seeing. You can also see the woman
wearing typical tanzanian colourful clothing. The smoke in the
background is from the ubiquitous coal-burning fires everywhere...
it's a wonder everyone doesn't have asthma or lung cancer.
Pic 6 - Our accomodations. Jeff and I are sharing this bed... with
pink sheets... and a mosquito net to make things extra cozy.
It must feel so good to get out of the city. It's looking very green. Is it the rainy season? I thought in an earlier blog you'd said it wasn't the rainy season but it was raining.
ReplyDeleteThe clothing does look colourful. It looks like they have no rules about mixing stripes and patterns which makes for interesting combos I'm sure. I like it. So are you more mellowed out and in the zen zone since sleeping in pink? It must have been great to see the giraffes especially since when you think Africa you think of big animals like elephants, giraffe, lions etc... What are you eating these days. Do they try to cater to the western diet or are you immersed into their food?
